Protein per Dollar at Rio
In-stock items at riomarket.com ranked by the most grams of protein for each US dollar . All ranked products are here; choose Top 50, 100, 250 or All, and hide anything you don't want. Protein comes from the product's real nutrition label where one was found online (green Label badge), otherwise from a typical value for that food.

Label means the protein value comes from that product's real nutrition label, found online on the maker's site, another store's page, Open Food Facts or a nutrition database. Click the badge to see the source. The confidence level says how sure that match is: high is the official label, medium is the exact barcode in a public database, low is a sibling flavor or size of the same product, or a crowd-sourced entry. Estimate means no label could be found, so a typical value for that food is used. Fresh meat, chicken, fish and deli cheese sold by the kilo have no label anywhere.
How estimates work: package weight is read from the product name, and items sold by weight are counted per kg. That weight is multiplied by a typical protein value for the food, for example dry lentils 24 g/100 g, canned tuna 25 g, whole chicken 14 g after allowing for bone, one egg 6.3 g. Raw meat and fish are counted as bought. Dry beans and oats are counted dry, before cooking. Every product of the same food type gets the same value, so within a type the order is really a price order.
These are estimates, not label values, so items with nearly the same score are effectively tied. Out-of-stock items and packs with no listed weight (some sausages and tequeños) are left out.
